Blue Devil Boys End Regular Season Friday Night Hosting Pierce

WAYNE – As girls subdistrict play goes final and boys subdistrict games are set for next week, the final high school boys regular season basketball games will be held for Friday night.

The Wayne High boys will look to add to their eight-game winning streak and 17-6 record during parent’s night Friday evening. WHS will host a rematch with Pierce (13-8) from the Mid State Conference Championship game on February 8 at Wayne State College. The Blue Devils defeated Pierce 54-41.

Boys basketball parents are asked to be at the high school gym by 6:30 p.m. as they’ll be introduced between the JV and varsity games.

Junior varsity boys action will open Friday night at 6:15 p.m. followed by the varsity showdown around 7:45 p.m. Join Justin Raulston on Big Red Country ‘KTCH’ 104.9 and waynedailynews.com with the pregame show set for 7:30 p.m.

After posting a 5-5 record at the break, Wayne High has gone 12-1 in 2020 with their lone loss coming at home against 21-1 North Bend in overtime (55-53) on January 16.

WHS recently defeated Arlington 51-39 last Friday while Pierce topped GACC 56-39 last on February 13.
