Blue Devil Bowling Results: Wayne High Girls Open Season With Road Victory, WHS Boys Fall To 1-1 Ahead Of Weekend Invite

PLAINVIEW – After the Wayne High boys varsity bowling team was in action last week, both the Wayne High girls and boys bowling programs then took to the road this past weekend.

From D & K Lanes in Plainview, WHS competed against the host Pirates on December 3.

In the girls dual, Wayne battled through to sweep Plainview, 21-0.

Leading the way for Wayne in game one was Brianna Nissen with a score of 141. Other scorers for Wayne were Riley Haschke (139), Jersi Jensen (113), Sydney Redden (100) and Jamie Janke/Joslyn Johnson (97).

Game two scoring included Riley Haschke (128), Jersi Jensen (117), Brianna Nissen (114), Jamie Janke/Joslyn Johnson (102) and Sydney Redden/Nina Hammer (95).

The Wayne girls began their season at 1-0.

Moving into the boys dual, Wayne High also battled through an extremely tough oil pattern all night but fell to the host Pirates in the Baker games.  Final score was 12.5-8.5 in favor of Plainview.

Leading the way for Wayne was Brooks Kneifl with two wins while other individual wins came from Jacob Anderson, Carter Hasemann and Brogan Foote (1 each) along with Shayne Geidner (1/2).

The Wayne boys are now 1-1 on the season.

“Both teams battled tonight hard through extremely tough oil pattern conditions.  The girls were able to pull out the victory and the boys gave themselves chances.  However we were not good enough picking up spares and it cost us dearly.  We definitely need to work hard on spares next week in practice.”

The Wayne High girls and boys bowling teams will next take part in the Boone Central Invite scheduled for this Saturday from Kings Lanes in Norfolk starting at 9 a.m.
