Blue Devil Baseball Scheduled To Play Five Games In Five Days; Monday’s Game Postponed

WAYNE – After finishing the 2019 season at 9-7 with a loss in the first round of the B-6 District Baseball Tournament, the Wayne High baseball team is scheduled to be back in action after a 689-day break.

The Blue Devils were scheduled to host Arlington today at 4:30 p.m. from Hank Overin Field but the game has since been postponed due to weather.

Wayne High defeated Arlington, 6-4 closing out the 2019 regular season schedule.

Wayne High is also scheduled to visit Fort Calhoun on Tuesday, March 23 starting with a JV game at 5 p.m. followed by varsity competition at 7 p.m.

WHS had their 2019 game with Fort Calhoun canceled as Fort Calhoun won the most recent meeting, 5-4 in 2018.

Later this week on Thursday, Wayne will host Thurston-Cuming at 4:30 p.m. before welcoming in Wahoo for a doubleheader starting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Blue Devils swept Thurston-Cuming (1-0/7-3) in 2019 while the team of Wahoo/Bishop Neuman/Lincoln Lutheran won 2-1 two years ago.
