SEWARD – With two games remaining on the regular season for Wayne High, district baseball pairing information was released Thursday.
The Blue Devils sit 8-6 after going 1-3 their last four outings. WHS will open postseason competition next Friday, May 3 in the B6 District as the #4 seed hosted by Elkhorn.
Wayne High will face #5 South Sioux City (2-9) at 5 p.m. Friday with the winner to play #1 Elkhorn (8-8) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

WHS defeated South Sioux City 3-0 on April 8 in South Sioux.
The other half of the bracket will feature #3 Platte Valley (6-7) vs. #6 DC West (1-13) at 7:30 p.m. Friday with the winner to face #2 Wahoo (10-4) at noon Saturday.
Thurston-Cuming County (5-6) earned the #5 seed in the B-2 District hosted by Bennington. The Thunder will face #4 Auburn (6-9) at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 3 with the winner facing #1 Bennington (11-5) at 1 p.m. Saturday. The other half of the bracket will feature #2 Nebraska City (7-7) vs. #3 Beatrice (6-6) at 10 a.m. Saturday.
GACC/Scribner-Snyder/West Point-Beemer (2-8) will be the #5 seed in the B-3 district played at Hickman City Park hosted by Norris. The Patriots will play #4 Plattsmouth (6-10) at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 3 with the winner to face #1 Norris (11-7) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. #2 Concordia/Brownell Talbot/Omaha Christian Academy (12-4) will battle #3 Blair (5-8) at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4.
