Bentjen Places Fifth During Conference Outing

BATTLE CREEK – Mid State Conference girls golf teams took part in their conference outing through the wind and cool temperatures Thursday.

From Evergreen Hill Golf Course in Battle Creek, the host Bravettes won the team race with a 386 followed by Boone Central in second with a 394.

Individually, Boone Central’s Abby Brodersen won the 18-hole tourney with a 79 followed by a pair of Battle Creek golfers being Megan Lutt (84) and Joslyn Hrabanek (91). Delayne Sudbeck of Cedar Catholic shot a 93 to place fourth while Wayne High’s Natalie Bentjen finished with a 97 in fifth.

Riley Haschke placed 26th with a 116 while Trinity Surber shot a 155 for Wayne High.

Other team scoring came from O’Neill in third shooting at 428; Hartington Cedar Catholic in fourth with a 436; Norfolk Catholic placed fifth with a 446; Pierce took sixth with a 456 and Crofton placed seventh with a 553. Wayne High, Pierce JV, Boone Central JV, O’Neill JV and Battle Creek JV also has golfers in action.

The Wayne High girls golf team will next compete in districts on Monday, October 5 hosted by Blair at River Wilds Golf Course.
