Battle Creek Wrestling Invite Results

BATTLE CREEK – After having a Thursday wrestling triangular postponed Wakefield took part in a road invitational Saturday.

From Battle Creek Public Schools, the Trojans competed with 18 other teams during the Battle Creek Invite.

Crofton-Bloomfield won the Battle Creek Invite with 166 points, followed closely by Yutan in runner-up with 165 points, the host Battle Creek placed third with 157 points, Elkhorn Valley took fourth with 127.5 points and Summerland rounded out the top five teams with 98 points.

Other team scoring came from Howells-Dodge (T-sixth – 96), Quad County Northeast (T-sixth – 96), Oakland-Craig (eighth – 65.5), Hartington Cedar Catholic (ninth – 63), Ponca (10th – 61), Archbishop Bergan (11th – 53), Lutheran High Northeast (12th – 50), Madison (13th – 48), Creighton (14th – 37), Wakefield (15th – 35.5), Battle Creek JV (T-16th – 31), Winnebago (T-16th – 31), Stanton (18th – 30) and Niobrara/Verdigre (19th – 18).

Wakefield leaders were Jeremiah Chase (138) finishing third while Samuel Chase (106) and Gabriel Lamprecht (145) both took seventh. Mitchell Fischer (170): eighth, Ronnie Ramirez (145) tied for 12th, Franco Tapia (126): 13th, as Caleb Chase and Kolton Fischer (132): T-14th.

Quad County Northeast (Randolph/LCC): Tie Hollandsworth (152) won his weight class, Kolby Casey (195) placed third as Colby Wathor (182) and Fischer Carson (285) both came in fourth. Carter Olson (120) took sixth, Nolan Ohlrich (145) placed seventh, Sutton Ehlers (160) and Aiden Gubbels (185): eighth as Asher Beed (106), Dominic Wilcox (126), Gabe Wortman (138), Ajay Gubbels (170) all tied for 12th.

HCC: Conner Hochstein (152) recorded a runner-up finish, Kerby Hochstein (132) finished third, Cole Steffensen (126) placed fifth, Keegan Carl (106) took sixth and Tavious Pinkelman (120): eighth. Korth Kale (160) tied for 10th while Nash Albers (145), Kyle Lemme (170) and Rogers Aiaden (285) all tied for 12th.

Ponca: Dalton Anderson (132) placed runner-up while Aiden Cook (160), Hunter Bennett (170) and Matt Logue (195) took fifth. Grant Sprakel (106) and Miguel Balvantin (182): eighth as well as Kemper Carlson (182) tied for 12th.

 

The Wakefield wrestlers will next take part in a rescheduled triangular hosted by Madison along with Ponca on Monday, January 18 at 6 p.m.
