Battle Creek Wins Home Wrestling Dual Over Wayne

BATTLE CREEK – A mid-January road dual was on the schedule Thursday night for the Wayne High wrestling team.

From Battle Creek public schools, WHS was in search for dual win number 10 late in the week during the Battle Creek dual.

Battle Creek took the early lead and won 52-18 dropping Wayne High to 9-3 in dual matches.

Wayne High wins saw Reece Jaqua (132) win by fall (1:26) over Dylan Ahlman; Cade Janke (195) won by fall (1:13) over Jacob Ottis and 285 by forfeit.

Battle Creek won 120 and 138 by forfeit as other results saw Jaxson Hassler (106) win by fall (3:26) over Wyatt Heikes; Hunter Kreikemeier (113) over Zachary McManigal by decision (6-0); Boston Reeves (126) over Eli Barner by major decision (17-3); Korbyn Battershaw (145) over Francisco Jinez by fall (1:30); Kobe Thompson (152) over James Dorcey by fall (0:50); Kade Warneke (160) over Tyruan Chenlo (by decision (9-7); Traven Croghan (170) over Matus Snopek by fall (0:32); Kase Thompson (182) over Dakota Spann by decision (12-7) and Dahlas Zlomke (220) over Martin Carrillo by decision (5-1).

The Wayne High wrestling team is scheduled to compete in the Schuyler Invite on Saturday, January 18 starting at 9 a.m. pending weather. Weigh-ins are set to begin at 7 a.m.
