WAYNE – With no NCAA Division II volleyball tournament being played this season, the Wayne State College Wildcats are preparing for an abbreviated spring schedule as a recent preseason ranking poll has listed WSC in the top 25.
According to a release from the Wayne State Athletics office, the ‘Cats have been selected 13th in the AVCA Spring Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll released Tuesday by the coaches’ association.
WSC finished the 2019 season with a 24-7 record and a #13 national ranking in the final regular season poll in December of 2019. The 2020 volleyball season was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Again, schools and conferences will participate an abbreviated schedule this spring. Wayne State is one of eight schools from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to be listed in the spring preseason coaches’ poll.
