PONCA – For those traveling between Ponca and Newcastle in northeast Nebraska will see maintenance work causing slower travel.
According to a release from the Nebraska Department of Transportation, an armor coating project began today (August 28) on N-12. Armor coating is an application of an asphalt binder to a roadway surface followed by an aggregate.
State maintenance forces will be performing armor coating on N-12 from Ponca to Newcastle. Anticipated completion is Wednesday, September 4 as traffic will be maintained with intermittent lane closures along with the use of flaggers and a pilot car.
Motorists should expect delays and are reminded to drive cautiously in and near construction zones.
