Arenas Double-Double Leads Wakefield To Home Sweep

WAKEFIELD – With three more road matches to take over the Wakefield volleyball schedule in early October, the Trojans notched another home victory.

From the main gym in Wakefield, a pair of Class C2 teams were in action Thursday evening.

The host Wakefield picked up the win in straight sets over Crofton with scores being 25-18, 25-20, 25-12. The Trojans are now 15-8 while the visiting Warriors fell to 11-8. Wakefield has gone 6-1 their past seven matches.

Alex Arenas posted a double-double with 13 kills and 17 digs, Daveigh Munter-McAfee added eight kills and eight digs as Alli Brown tallied seven kills and six digs. Jordan Metzler finished with 27 assists, nine digs and two kills.

Katie Borg recorded 12 digs, MaKenna Decker had four kills as Laken Rahn tacked on two kills and a dig.

Metzler and Brown both had two service aces as Borg and Arenas had an ace each. Arenas also added a solo block.

The Wakefield volleyball team will next visit Ponca on Tuesday, October 4.
