WAYNE – With nine weeks of regular season high school football in the books, playoff brackets were released Saturday.
First round of eight-man playoffs (D1/D2) begin on Thursday, October 25 while everyone else (A-C2/six-man) will open their playoffs on Friday, October 26.
In Class C1, area teams: #2 Pierce vs. #15 Chadron and #9 West Point-Beemer at #8 Gothenburg
Class C2, area teams: #3 Norfolk Catholic vs. #14 Archbishop Bergan and #15 Battle Creek at #2 Sutton
Class D1, area teams in the east bracket: #5 Lutheran High Northeast vs. #12 Elmwood-Murdock, #3 GACC vs. #14 Thayer Central, #8 Wisner-Pilger vs. #9 Lourdes Central Catholic and #10 Laurel-Concord-Coleridge at #7 Fullerton
Class D2: area teams in the east bracket: #4 Randolph vs. #13 Plainview, #7 Allen vs. #10 Emerson-Hubbard, #8 Hartington-Newcastle vs. #9 Clarkson-Leigh and #15 Pender at #2 Johnson-Brock
