Area Seniors Featured During U.S. Bank Believers & Achievers Awards, School Winners Recognized

LINCOLN – The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) released their list of students who represent the very best of Nebraska high schools.

The recognition of Nebraska’s future leaders, known as Believers and Achievers, will highlight 48 high school seniors through March of 2019 beginning this month.

Eight finalists will receive $500 scholarships from U.S. Bank to a college or university of their choice at a banquet on April 28. These students will be recognized at NSAA State Championships throughout the 2018-19 activities year and on posters sent to all NSAA member schools and U.S. Bank branches in Nebraska.

Each school was able to nominate two seniors who have a minimum grade point average of 3.75 and participate in NSAA sponsored activities. Students were judged on five categories which included scholastic achievement, NSAA activity participation, school involvement, community involvement and submitting a citizenship essay.

Area winners among Top 48:

Katie Bathke (Allen), Ashtyn Fritz (Creighton), Liby Lange (Hartington-Newcastle) and Lorna Maxon (Laurel-Concord-Coleridge).
