Aquinas Catholic Overcomes Several Turnovers

DAVID CITY – If you would have told Ponca head coach Troy Evans that his team would turn Aquinas Catholic over four times, he probably would have thought his team would win.

So it’s a good thing no one told him that.

Despite forcing four turnovers, Ponca fell to Aquinas Catholic on Friday, 28-14.

Part of the problem was a stagnant offense, especially in the first half, where they could muster just 86 total yards.

Aquinas meanwhile found success with their ground game, with sophomore Kyle Napier rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown and picking up a touchdown through the air as well.

Aquinas improves to 2-2 with unbeaten Centennial on the schedule next week. Ponca slips to 1-3 as they prepare for Cedar Catholic at home next week.
