LINCOLN – Another round of 2022 NSAA Girls and Boys State Basketball games took over Lincoln Tuesday afternoon.
Class A boys games began competition from the Pinnacle Bank Arena; Class C1 boys closed out their first round at the Bob Devaney Sports Center; Class C2 girls began their tourney from Lincoln Southeast as Class D1 girls closed out their first round at Lincoln Southwest.
Class A Boys (PBA): #1 Millard North (24-2) defeated #8 Elkhorn South (16-9), 62-50 while #4 Gretna (19-6) defeated #5 Omaha Central (19-8), 67-65 in double overtime
C1 Boys (Devaney): #2 Ashland-Greenwood (25-1) defeated #7 Ogallala (22-5), 56-43 while #3 Kearney Catholic (26-1) defeated #6 Wayne (24-4), 47-40
C2 Girls (LSE): #1 Hastings St. Cecilia (24-2) defeated #8 Elkhorn Valley (22-5), 47-20 while #4 Crofton (23-4) defeated #5 Ponca (24-2), 41-38
D1 Girls (LSW): #8 Hartington Cedar Catholic (14-15) defeated #1 Elmwood-Murdock (23-4), 47-46 while #4 Shelton (26-1) defeated #5 Niobrara/Verdigre (18-9), 52-47
