CROOKSTON, MN – Following a 4-2 stint against ranked opponents, the Wayne State College volleyball team took their eighth-ranked record to the road.
From Crookston, Minnesota, WSC visited the Golden Eagles Friday night.
Wayne State dominated the match winning in straight sets (25-14, 25-16, 25-14) to improve to 18-3 (8-3 NSIC) while Minnesota Crookston fell to 4-16 (2-10 NSIC).
Katie Stephens posted a team-high 15 kills followed by Kelsie Cada with 10 kills and seven digs. Jaci Brahmer also added six kills. Dig leaders came from Haley Kauth with 12 and Maddie Duffy tacking on 10 digs as Rachel Walker finished with 29 set assists. Carter Hope, Tarrin Beller and Walker all had two service aces.
The ‘Cats outhit UMC, .359 to .136 while recording more aces (7-1) and blocks (5-3) than the Golden Eagles.
The Wayne State College volleyball team will next visit Bemidji State at 1 p.m. Saturday.
