30th Annual Logan Creek Pheasants Forever Chapter Banquet Looking Towards Fall Date

WAYNE – Members with the local Pheasants Forever Chapter #303 in northeast Nebraska enjoy the outdoors when it comes to hunting and fishing, but the group also looks to give back building the habitat for the next generation. As event organizers across the country look to deal with postponements and cancellations, the Logan Creek Pheasants Forever Chapter is looking to reschedule their 30th annual banquet from late March.

The event was scheduled for Friday, March 20 from the Beaumont Event Center but was called off due to the coronavirus pandemic. The chapter held an emergency meeting on Thursday, March 12 to make the decision in postponing the banquet.

President of the local chapter Jim Modrell said during the meeting they have not set an exact date yet.

“The big thing was is we have just a lot of decisions to make,” said Modrell. “We’re going to have to work with both the Beaumont and other factors. We’re going to have to look at what else is going on in town but we’re trying to hold a fall banquet right now.”

The mission of Pheasants Forever is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education and land management policies and programs.

Modrell added the chapter will be working on getting everybody’s $35 membership turned in to the national organization of pheasants forever.

“That is what runs the national organization,” Modrell added. “But basically, it pays for their salaries up there. We got to have Jerry and the other regional representatives that we have, the office staff up there and that $35 is what keeps them going.”

Go to www.pheasantsforever.org and renew online as the organization will be mailing out postcards to the current members and placing information on social media.

All money raised from the annual banquet would go into habitat education, habitat and anything the Logan Creek Chapter can do to promote good habitat throughout the state.

Modrell mentioned over 275 people attended last year’s banquet and they’re are always in search for new members.

“We just hope everybody will come out and support us again and then another six months later we’re gonna have our banquet again,” Modrell mentioned. “We’re going to try and still have it in March like we’ve always had for the last 30 years except for this year. So, we’re just hoping that people can always get involved with us; we’re going to need new people.”

Chapter sponsors will also be contacted to get their input as well.
