#3 WSC Volleyball Improves To 12-0 With Final Non-Conference Match

WAYNE – With a pair of NSIC opponents approaching this weekend for #3 Wayne State College, a non-conference volleyball match was held Tuesday night.

From Rice Auditorium, WSC welcomed in in-state foe Peru State College.

The Wildcats picked up a 25-14, 25-8, 25-13 sweep over the Bobcats to improve to 12-0 while Peru State remained at 4-7 as the match was an exhibition contest for PSU.

Kelsie Cada recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs while Taya Beller added 10 kills and five blocks. Rachel Walker posted 25 assists to go along with three blocks, two digs and two kills as Jessie Brandl was second on the team in digs with nine.

Maggie Brahmer tallied five kills and four blocks (two solo), Jordan McCormick had four kills, four digs and a block, Isabelle Vacek tacked on three kills, three blocks and a dig as Taylor Bunjer finished with two kills. Other digs came from Havyn Heinz (six), Brooke Peltz (two) and Ally Beresford (one).

Service aces came from Heinz with three as McCormick, Beresford, Cada and Walker all had an ace.

Wayne State College outhit Peru State College, .455 to .043 and finished with 16 total blocks.

#3 Wayne State College will next visit Upper Iowa University on Friday, September 16 at 6 p.m. and also play at Winona State University on Saturday, September 17 at 2 p.m.
