WAYNE – The Wayne Pony youth baseball team took to the diamond for a home outing against Pender Sunday.
From the Summer Sports Complex, Wayne topped Pender 11-0 in five innings to now sit 3-0 on the season. The Wayne Ponies have outscored their three opponents, 41-8.
Devin Anderson went 1-for-1 with a two-run homerun along with two walks. Jase Dean added a 2-for-2 performance with a walk while Kaleb Moormeier went 2-for-3 with a double. Dom Dominguez, Gavin Redden, Kaden Keller, Caden Wiese and Jamison Meyer all tallied singles.
Moormeier picked up the complete game win in five innings allowing four hits while striking out 11 batters and walking one.
The Wayne Pony baseball team will next visit Wakefield on Wednesday, July 1 at 7 p.m. before traveling to Oakland on Sunday, July 5 at 7 p.m.
