SIOUX FALLS, SD – With two meets being ran on a Friday this season, the Wayne State College women’s and men’s cross country team opened their schedule under the lights.
From Yankton Trails Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, WSC took part in the Augustana Twilight Invite Friday evening.
In the women’s division, WSC placed 14th out of 25 teams with 445 points while the men took 19th out of 27 teams scoring 525 points.
The top female team saw South Dakota defeat Nebraska 40-67 as Augustana took third with 98 points, Nebraska-Kearney placed fourth with 148 points and Minnesota State-Mankato fifth (156).
Allie Rosener was the top Wildcat runner placing 105th out of 306 runners on the 5,000-meter course in a time of 19:59. Wayne native Andrea Torres took 120th (20:08).
Other Wildcat women results: Brianna Couch (141st – 20:31); Alex Bauer (142nd – 20:32); Kim Johnson (143rd – 20:33); Marin Jetensky (180th – 21:09); Amanda Mote (184th – 21:11) and Josephine Peitz (232nd – 22:06).
Leading the men’s team scoring was Nebraska topping Augustana 69-104 followed by Cloud County Community College in third with 111 points, Sioux Falls placed fourth (129) and Nebraska-Kearney rounded out the top five teams with 134 points.
Wayne State’s top runner was Dylan Kessler finishing 113th on the four-mile course in a time of 21:03.

The Wayne State College women’s and men’s cross country season will continue on Saturday, September 14 from the Dakota State Invite in Madison, South Dakota.
