Northeast Community College Baseball Goes 2-2 During NJCAA DII World Series

ENID, OK – The Northeast Community College baseball team saw their postseason run come to an end Tuesday from the David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid, Oklahoma.

NECC opened the 2019 National Junior College Athlete Association Division II World Series by defeating #10 Monroe Community College 13-12 (Sunday) and then dropped a high-scoring 21-14 game to #2 Madison Monday.

The seventh-ranked Hawks fought off a consolation game by defeating #6 Lincoln Land (Ill) 8-5 (Tuesday morning) but were eliminated by #3 Mesa (8-6) in 10 innings later in the day.

Northeast Community College finished their second year of baseball at 36-20. During the inaugural season, Northeast went 18-38-1.

Four teams remain entering Wednesday competition.

#5 Northern Oklahoma-Enid (2-0) vs. #8 Pasco-Hernando State of Florida (3-1) at 3:30 p.m. and on the other side of the bracket between #2 Madison of Wisconsin (2-0) vs. #3 Mesa of Arizona (2-1) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The NJCAA DII Championship Round is scheduled between Thursday, May 30 – Saturday, June 1.
