#15 Wayne State Volleyball Sweeps Friday Night Opponent, Ready For #7 Concordia-St. Paul

WAYNE – Prior to a top 15 NCAA Division II showdown Saturday evening, the 15th ranked Wayne State College volleyball team was in action with another conference opponent Friday night.

From Rice Auditorium, WSC hosted Minnesota State-Mankato.

The Wildcats swept the Mavericks in straight sets (25-13, 25-22, 25-18) to improve to 13-1 (4-1 NSIC) as Minnesota State-Mankato falls to 9-4 (2-3 NSIC).

Tarrin Beller and Katie Stephens both posted nine kills for WSC as Alyssa Ballenger added eight kills. Rachel Walker finished with 31 set assists and six digs, Hope Carter recorded a team-high 12 digs followed by Haley Kauth with eight digs and a team-high four service aces.

WSC outhit the Mavericks .325 – .167 while totaling more blocks (8-3) and service aces (9-5).

#15 Wayne State College will next host #7 Concordia-St. Paul Saturday at 4 p.m.
