ST. PAUL, MN – The Wayne State College women’s soccer team opened up a three-game stretch over a week against the three top teams in league play.
From Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota, WSC visited #15 Concordia-St. Paul Friday night.
Following a scoreless first half, the Golden Bears scored in the 71st minute as CSP held on for the 1-0 home win. Concordia-St. Paul improves to 14-0-2 (11-0-2 NSIC) while the ‘Cats fell to 6-6-4 (6-5-2 NSIC).
Wayne State’s three-shot attempts came from Brooke Worrel, Rylie Wehner and Skylar Stueckrath.
Rachel Grisham recorded two saves, allowing one goal in 90 minutes.
Concordia-St. Paul held a lopsided shot attempt advantage 17-3 (3-0 on goal) while also winning the corner kick battle (7-1).
The Wayne State College women’s soccer team will next host #19 Minnesota State-Mankato on Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m. to close out their home schedule.
