WAYNE – After going 1-2 in their past three matches, the Wayne State College volleyball team slid a couple more spots in the AVCA DII top 25 Coaches Poll.
According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, WSC slipped two spots to 13th released Monday afternoon. The Wildcats received 588 points in voting conducted by various Division II coaches from across the nation.
Last week, WSC beat Augustana 3-1 in Wayne followed by a 3-1 road loss at then #13 Southwest Minnesota State.
#13 Wayne State College will continue their four-match road stretch with three NSIC road contests this week.
WSC will visit Sioux Falls on Tuesday, November 3 at 6 p.m. which will be carried on The City ‘KCTY’ 98.9/1590 and waynedailynews.com. Pregame show coverage on the Wildcat Sports Network with Voice of the Wildcats, Aaron Scheffler is set for 5:30 p.m.
Wayne State College swept USF earlier this season during the NSIC home opener on September 21 by the scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-22. The Wildcats have won all nine meetings against the Cougars since Sioux Falls joined the NSIC in the 2012 season. The last trip to Sioux Falls, South Dakota was in the 2018 season where WSC won 3-2. Two of the nine matches have gone five sets with one going four and six Wildcat sweeps.
The ‘Cats will also visit Bemidji State Friday at 6 p.m. and Minnesota Crookston Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
