#1 Wayne State College Finishes Off Home Weekend With Another Sweep, Holds Crookston To -.027 Attack Percentage

WAYNE – Ahead of a busy road week, #1 Wayne State College was back on the home court Saturday afternoon for NSIC volleyball play.

From Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College, WSC welcomed in Minnesota Crookston.

The Wildcats dominated from the start and swept the Golden Eagles with scores of the match being 25-8, 25-10, 25-10. WSC continues to improve on their best start to a season now at 18-0 (8-0 NSIC) while UMC fell to 2-14 (1-7 NSIC).

Taya Beller recorded a team-high 12 kills to go along with three blocks and a dig while Maggie Brahmer (one block) and Kelsie Cada (seven digs/five blocks, two solo) both added 10 kills. Rachel Walker posted 27 assists, two digs, two blocks (one solo) and a kill as Jessie Brandl led the team in digs with nine.

Isabelle Vacek (two digs, one block) and Taylor Bunjer (one block) each finished with three kills, Jordan McCormick tallied two kills and seven digs as other digs came from Havyn Heinz (four), Elly Larson (two) and Brooke Peltz (one).

McCormick led the team in service aces with two as Ally Beresford, Walker, Cada, Brandl, Heinz, Larson and Peltz all had an ace.

Wayne State held Minnesota Crookston to a -.027 attack percentage while finishing with .549 offensively and recorded eight blocks compared to two from UMC.
