Year-End Nominations Being Accepted For WAED | Chamber | Main Street Banquet

WAYNE – As the annual banquet in Wayne approaches in late January, the chamber office is currently accepting nominations for several award categories.

Mark Sunday, January 26 on your calendar from the Beaumont Event & Concert Hall for the Wayne Area Economic Development | Chamber | Main Street banquet.

Nominations being accepted are for Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year and Educator of the Year as forms (found below) are due prior to December 31, 2019.

The Citizen of the Year is used to recognize an individual who has significantly contributed to the general betterment of the Wayne area. The Educator of the Year will recognize an educator for excellence in the classroom and outstanding involvement in the community. The Business of the Year award is to recognize a business who has significantly contributed to the general betterment of the Wayne area. The Most Valuable Patrol is used to recognize an individual, a business or an organization who has significantly supported Wayne Area Economic Development throughout the year.

A selection committee will review the nominations in each category and the recipient will be honored at the annual Chamber Banquet in January of 2020.

Award winners from the 2018 banquet were Scott and MaryKay Hasemann (Citizen) Courtney Maas (Educator), Providence Medical Center (Business) and Wayne Municipal Airport (Most Valuable Patron).

The banquet will also feature a ‘20s theme and dressing up is encouraged. The social hour will begin at 4 p.m. with the dinner to follow at 5 p.m. and awards after.
