WAYNE – With the month of March coming to an end this week, Wayne State College will be offering their Plains Writers Series virtually on Wednesday, March 31.

According to a release from WSC, the Language and Literature Department, the School of Arts and Humanities and WSC Press are pleased to host this Springs’s Plains Writers Series. This Plains Writers Series will highlight Samuel Stenger Renken and the readings will be hosted via Zoom at 4 p.m. CST.

The Plains Writers Series is hosted several times a year to bring attention to the prose and poetry of Great Plains writers through reading and interacting with area audiences.

This event is in collaboration with the Visiting Writers Series at Northeast Community College.

Samuel Stenger Renken received his bachelor of arts degree at Nebraska Wesleyan with the late Bill Kloefkorn, a master of arts degree at Clemson with Keith Lee Morris, and a master of fine arts degree in Wyoming with H.L. Hix.

First Pony Out (WSC Press 2020) is his second collection of poetry. He is managing director of Consolidated Planning Atlanta.
