Winter Weather Advisory Reduced For Areas Impacted, Northeast Residents May See Trace Amounts

WAYNE – Communities in southeast Nebraska could see a few inches of snow while those in the northeast part of the state will see possibly a dusting of flurries.

According to a release from the National Weather Service Omaha Center, the expected snow may end sooner than expected and the duration of the Winter Weather Advisory has been reduced. The advisory will remain in effect for generally south of a line from Columbus to Harlan, Iowa.

Accumulating snow and travel impacts are possible as snowfall could come to an end this afternoon or early Wednesday evening.

The higher accumulations are expected mainly near the Kansas/Nebraska border. Roads may refreeze Wednesday night as temperatures fall into the teens and lower 20s.

Northeast Nebraska communities may see a trace of snow while areas south of Columbus could get 1-3 inches.
