Winter Weather Advisory for Wednesday and Thursday


NEBRASKA — Another winter storm bringing bitterly cold wind chills, snow and ice is moving into Nebraska.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most of northern Nebraska and a sliver of eastern Nebraska. The Advisory lasts from noon on Wednesday through Thursday morning.

Meteorologists say the heaviest snow will fall in northeast Nebraska with as much as five inches possible in Cedar and Knox counties.

Ice is the concern for southeast Nebraskans. Most of the region could around one tenth of an inch of ice accumulation by Thursday morning.

Terribly cold wind chills are expected to again rock the state. Eastern Nebraska will likely see chills in the negative 20s with wind chills in the negative 30s possible in western Nebraska.

Hazardous travel conditions are likely to develop across the state on Wednesday night.
