Winside Memorial Day Program, Bus Schedule To Area Cemeteries Released

WINSIDE – Roy Reed Post 252 American Legion in Winside will be visiting several cemeteries and hold their Memorial Day program on Monday, May 27.

Post 252 will meet at the Winside Legion Post at 7 a.m. and depart at 7:15 a.m. before making nine stops through 11 a.m. Monday.

The Winside Memorial Day program will be held at the Winside City Auditorium then at 10:30 a.m. Phil O’Donnell, a US Naval Academy Graduate will present the Memorial Day address.

Alex Carlson and Edward Olander will be introduced as 2019 Cornhusker Boys State along with recognition of continuous members through the American Legion Post and 50 years (pin) for Lee Pfeiffer.

The American Legion Post Commander is Mark Bloomfield, American Legion Auxiliary Unit President is Donna Edwards and Sons of American Legion Squadron Commander is Arlin Kittle.

Following the last cemetery stop, the auxiliary will hold their annual Memorial Day Dinner at the Winside Legion Post which is open to the public for a free will donation.
