PONCA – Ponca State Park is ready to host another weekend filled with fun. Saturday’s events include and introductory course to archery and a .22 rifle course. All equipment will be provided and participants must be at least 5 years of age for the archery program and ten years of age for the rifle course. Meet and pay at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex. The program lasts from 9-11 a.m. and cost is $1 per six arrows and $3 for 10 shots.
At 11:30 a.m. the Critter Corner program is back at the Resource and Education Center. Participants will have the chance to learn about the wildlife found along the Missouri River. This is a free program and fun for all ages.
At 1:30 p.m. on Saturday meet at the Resource and Education Center to check out a very neat bug collection and get the chance to start a collection of your very own. Bug nets will be provided for this free event.
Visitors to Ponca State Park will have the chance to enjoy an afternoon snack at 2:30. The Resource and Education Center will be the location to enjoy honey campfire twirls. Cost is $2 per treat with a limit of 20 people.
On Sunday, sight in your aim and check out an introductory course on slingshots at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex going from 9-11 a.m. Cost is $1 for 30 rocks and all equipment will be provided. Participants must be at least 5 years of age.
