PONCA – Plan on a week-day visit to Ponca State Park in late May.
After holding an introduction to archery Monday as well as tomahawk and atlatl courses Tuesday another round of archery will be featured on Wednesday, May 29 from 9 – 11 a.m. Meet and pay at the Eric Wiebe Shooting Complex as cost is $1 per six arrows and participants must be five years or older to join.
Moving into Thursday events, there will be an introduction to pellet rifles from 9 – 11 a.m. Those interested must be eight years of age or older and cost is $1 per four clips.
Make your next campfire meal look easy during a 1 p.m. event. Bring your appetite and imagination as park-goers prepare treats over a campfire together. Pre-register for this event and meet at the Resource and Education Center as cost is $3 per person with a limit of 20.
Closing out Thursday, “Plugging into Nature” will be held at 3 p.m. Join a park naturalist by plugging into all the ways you can bring your technology into nature. Make sure your phone or tablet is well charged and visit the Resource and Education Center for this free event.
