WEB To Host Runza Fundraiser, Welcome Jacobs Back For Presentation

WAYNE – Last year Wayne elementary raised over $1,000 dollars from their two Runza nights as one of those nights approaches this week.

According to a release from Wayne Elementary Boosters, mark Tuesday, October 8 from 5 – 8 p.m. on the calendar to help raise funds for the elementary school.

The Wayne Runza will donate 15% of their sales during the Runza Night for Wayne elementary from dine-in, carry-out and drive-thru.

The school has used these funds to support resources such as the ‘One School One Book’ program and classroom supplies. Wayne Elementary staff will be volunteering in the dining room.

Then, later in the week on Friday, Dean Jacobs will make another visit to the elementary school sharing his adventures discovering a world of animals in a program called, “Wondrous Creatures.” Students will learn about and explore the various habitats around the world and some of the amazing animals that live there.

Jacobs will give his presentation to students during two assemblies, have lunch with a small group and conduct writing workshops for fifth and sixth graders called “Scientists for a Day.” Parents are welcome to attend his hour-long presentation for grades third through sixth at 8:10 a.m. and grades Kindergarten through second at 9:25 a.m. Wayne Elementary Boosters has sponsored this event where Jacobs is making his eighth visit to Wayne.
