WEB Fun Run Prizes Awarded To Wayne Elementary Students

WAYNE – Nearly two months after the Wayne Elementary Booster organization hosted their Fifth annual Fun Run, prize winners have been announced.

According to a release from Thursday afternoon, WEB raised over $6,700 and broke all previous records in its five-year history. Students in kindergarten – sixth grade ran around Kern Track at the high school while one group ran inside the elementary gym due to weather.

The top fundraiser amount went to Brooklyn Jones, Josie Ley was runner-up while Nora Dorcey and Drew Miller both tied for third place.

First place received a one-year family membership to the Wayne Community Activity Center, donated by Wayne Area Economic Development. Second place earned a Wayne High Sports Activity pass for a family of four donated by Wayne High as third place recipients were both given four reserved seats and tailgate tickets to a Wayne State College football game donated by the Wayne State College Athletic Department.

Aubree Schmale won a 2019 Wayne Outdoor Family Swimming Pool Pass, donated by WAED from the drawing where students who met the fundraising goal of $25 or more were entered.

Fifth grade students in Mrs. Trenhaile’s class had the most students participate in fundraising and received a root beer float party.
