WAYNE – A week after Wayne State College students returned from Labor Day break, 18 new positive cases were reported throughout the week.
According to a release from WSC, the college is up to 17 active positive cases as of Tuesday, September 14. The college is reporting data each week to keep the campus and community informed about the total number of active cases for employees and students, the number of recovered cases and the number of active positive case.
From the amended September 10 cases, the total number of positive cases went from 13 to 31 as three new recoveries were also reported from 11 to 14. Two active positive cases were being reported on August 31 and September 8 but recently jumped to 17 on September 14.
For the positive cases reported on September 8, three individuals went into quarantine/isolation at home prior to the start of classes on August 17.
Wayne State College officials want to remind everyone to follow all guidelines and requirements regarding the four pillars of hygiene, masks, social distancing and self-screening. The numbers reported include overall cases since August 14, 2020.
