WAYNE – Join Philosopher Dr. Jerry Martin, D.H.L. during his presentation of “If There Is One God, Why Are There So Many Religions?” on Monday, April 9 on the campus of Wayne State College.
There is no admission charge for the Monday evening event at 7 p.m. from Gardner Auditorium.
According to a release from WSC, this presentation will argue that there is a germ of truth in each religious alternative and that there are limits inherent in each alternative. Martin offers this presentation with a view centered on the hypothesis of divine complexity to resolve the contradictions of different religious views.
Martin is the former head of the National Endowment for the Humanities and of the philosophy department at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is also current Chair, Theology Without Walls Group, American Academy of Religion.
Dr. Martin has written God: An Autobiography as Told to a Philosopher (Caladium, 2016) and numerous articles on epistemology, philosophy of mind and public policy.
Martin has taught in the Graduate Public Policy Program at Georgetown University, taught graduate courses on political science at the Catholic University of America and testified before Congress.
