Wayne State College Homecoming 2021; Scholarship Campaign Launch Party Friday At 2 PM

WAYNE – As the end of this week will be highlighted by several activities on the Wayne State College campus with homecoming festivities taking place, early in the week is just as packed.

According to a release from Wayne State College, the complete schedule of events can be found at wsc.edu/homecoming.

A WSC alumni employee appreciation social will take place on Tuesday, September 28 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. in the Kanter Student Center Atrium. All WSC faculty and staff are invited to celebrate the alumni employees with desserts and entertainment.

Moving into Wednesday, September 29, an Arts walk will be open as students celebrate the arts across campus through expressions of music, art, language and literature (the event is also on Thursday).

A scholarship breakfast is slated to begin at 9 a.m. in the Frey Conference Suite as scholarship donors are invited prior to a scholarship luncheon at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Moving into a busy Friday, October 1 an annual trustee meeting/workshop will last from 9 a.m. until noon; trustee luncheon to follow while lunch for visitors will also be from noon until 1:30 p.m. and a scholarship campaign launch party will be held in the Willow Bowl at 2 p.m. The public is invited to the launch of the $30 million “Invest, Empower, Transform” Scholarship Campaign. Attendees will be able to hear how scholarships impact WSC students.

Moving into Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. there’ll be a Peterson Fine Arts building renovation ceremony followed by a ribbon cutting and open house at Benthack Hall at 3:30 p.m.

This year’s homecoming parade, sponsored by Student Activities, will last from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 2 with Main Street the parade ending at the Willow Bowl followed by Band Day around 10:30 a.m.

The Wayne State College Homecoming/Hall of Fame football game vs. Winona State University is at 1 p.m. on Saturday. The social and banquet will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Frey Conference Suite Saturday night.
