WAKEFIELD – After hosting their own meet, the Wayne High speech team went right down the road to Wakefield for a weekday invitational.
From Wakefield Community Schools, the Blue Devils placed runner-up in the varsity sweepstakes.
Wayne had four champions last Friday.
They included the JV Oral Interpretation of Drama team (Sam Perry, Kaden Hopkins, Courtney Brink, Ellie Jech and Alexis Hamik); Liam Spieker in varsity entertainment; Christopher Woerdemann in varsity extemporaneous and the varsity OID team (Spieker, Woerdemann, Isaac Davis, Dylan Anderson and Walker Hochstein).
Kaden Hopkins (varsity humorous – runner-up); Davis (varsity extemporaneous – fourth); Cailee Brugger (varsity Serious – fourth); Chris Cruz (varsity serious – fifth); Claire Lindsay (varsity persuasive – fifth); Brooklyn Bierbower (JV serious prose – fifth) and Hannah Vick (JV serious Prose – sixth).
The Wayne High speech team will next compete in the Wisner-Pilger Invite on Saturday, February 16.
