Wayne Public Library November Calendar To Offer Both Adult, Youth Programming

WAYNE – Throughout the month of November, community members are invited to stop by the Wayne Public Library to pick up a take-and-make recycled book craft.

According to a November release from the Wayne Public Library, the ‘Fall Crafts with Book Pages’ will include an instructional book on how to create a book leaf garland and other festive book crafts as well as a recycled book to make your creations out of.

Call the library at 402-375-3135 to reserve this fall themed take-and-make craft. Supplies such as scissors, glue, etc. will not be provided in the kit. This is a free craft and supplies are limited so, first come, first serve.

The Wayne Public Library is located at 410 Pearl Street.

WPL November Calendar

The monthly adult coloring night is scheduled for Tuesday, November 9 at 6 p.m. Guests can stop in for a relaxing night and good company. Colors, coloring sheets and snacks will be provided as the event is sponsored by Pac N Save.

An after-school coloring event will take place on Friday, November 12 at 3:30 p.m. Youth can relax and get creative after a busy school week. Adults will be on hand for conversation as coloring pages, art utensils of all kinds and a light snack will be provided.

Throughout the month community members can also work on their creative projects with the Needle Night group each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. from the library. All kinds of decorative sewing and textile arts handcrafts are welcome.

Toddler Time with Miss Kim will also be scheduled for each Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m. This will be a time for stories, music, dancing, busy bags and more. Meet other parents and kids in the area and learn about the various services and reading programs the library offers. The November 18 Toddler Time will be the final one of 2021.

The library will be closing early on Friday, November 19 and Wednesday, November 24 at 4 p.m. and be closed on Thursday, November 25 – Friday, November 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. They’ll reopen with regular hours on Saturday.

Also, the Youth Winter Reading Challenge is set to begin on Tuesday, November 23. This challenge will only be available by paper copy that can be obtained from the circulation desk and ends on January 3, 2022. For those who reach reading goals, you’ll be able to enter into Wayne Public Library prize drawings.

This month’s book with the Wayne Public Library Book Club will be ‘Dear Edward’ by Ann Napolitano. Plan on meeting on Tuesday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the library conference room to discuss the book with others. This book tells the story of a 12-year-old boy who is the sole survivor of a plane crash that kills all of the other 191 passengers, including the protagonist’s family. ‘Dear Edward’ is at once a transcendent coming-of-age story, a multidimensional portrait of an unforgettable cast of characters and a breathtaking illustration of all the ways a broken heart learns to love again.
