Wayne, Pender To Host Community Blood Drives December 30-31

WAYNE – A pair of northeast Nebraska communities will be hosting an end-of-the-year blood drive this week.

According to a release from LifeServe Blood Center, you can end 2020 and kickoff 2021 by saving lives in your community.

The Wayne Community Blood Drive will be on Wednesday, December 30 followed by the Pender Community Blood drive on Thursday, December 31.

To help ensure the safety of blood donors and team members during this COVID-19 pandemic, LifeServe is enforcing several precautionary measures. Appointments are required as donors who do not have an appointment will not be able to give blood; blood donors should pre-screen themselves for fever prior to appointments as only donors with temperatures under 99.5 will be allowed to donate and blood donors are required to wear a mask for the duration of their appointment as donors who do not have masks will be provided with one.

One donation can save three local lives. January is also National Blood Donor Month, a federal day that honors generous blood donors for their vital contribution to the community healthcare system.

Wayne Community Blood Drive: Wednesday, December 30 from 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Wayne Fire Hall (510 Tomar Drive)

Pender Community Blood Drive: Thursday, December 31 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Pender Fire Hall (314 Maple Street)

Schedule a blood donation appointment online at lifeservebloodcenter.org or call 800-287-4903.
