Wayne FFA Mid-Summer Information

WAYNE – With the school year quickly approaching, members with the Future Farmers of America organization in Wayne will be filling up their July calendar.

According to a release from Wayne Community Schools, mid-summer information for the Wayne FFA chapter was posted.

The chapter has entered a float in the Chicken Days parade on Saturday, July 13 and are in search of approximately 10 small square straw bales and/or two picnic tables for seating on a flatbed. Set-up and decorating of the float will take place Thursday, July 11 from 5-6 p.m. The float is limited to the first 20 students due to space and students can contact Ms. Rasmussen to be on the float.

Ag Tour Day is scheduled for Thursday, July 18 as students interested in attending need to let Ms. Rasmussen know by Wednesday, July 10. The group will depart school at 8 a.m. and return around 3 p.m. Stops include Blue Ox in Pender, Plum Creek Pines, Sale Barn and ASC Lockers in West Point.

Wayne FFA will also compete in Crop Scouting on Tuesday, July 23 in Mead. The five members attending will be Tyler R., Noah, Alyssa, Casey and Elle.

Other late July events include the Haskell Ag Lab Day on Wednesday, July 24 and Ag Literacy Activity at the Fair on Friday, July 26.
