WAYNE – With a working meeting scheduled later this week for community engagement, the Wayne Community Schools Board of Education will hold a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, November 8.
From the Jr/Sr High School Conference Room (202), the finance meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the regular agenda to start at 5 p.m.
Board of Education members will hear an audit presentation from Lori Olson over Zoom. The audit was completed by Dana Cole. Toni Rasmussen, Ag/FFA Instructor at the school will also provide information on an Ag Facility prior to an EMC Insurance quote being delivered by Cap Peterson with Northeast Nebraska Insurance Agency.
An old business item will then be addressed of 7-12 Special Education Instructor AIM (Agenda Item Management) Document. This would add a 1.0 FTE Sped Teacher to the Wayne Jr/Sr High School building.
The insurance quote will be brought back up during new business along with discussion on bleacher repair and Jr/Sr High School gym lights.
A drive wheel will need to be replaced on the east side of the high school gym, along with repairs to elementary gym bleachers and the purchase of backstops at the elementary. A quote from Sports Facility Maintenance, LLC from Omaha will be presented during the meeting.
Board of Education members will also receive a quote on the gym lights project. With the price on fixates seeing a 5-7% increase by November 10, they’ll need to decide Monday night to install 32 LED fixtures in the High School gym.
This will also be time where Board of Education members will take action on the 2020-21 Audit and Financial Statements.
Administration will then provide their reports along with board committee updates.
This month’s November Honor Coffee will recognize the groups of a girls golf state qualifier, state cross country qualifiers and National FFA attendees. This monthly event will take place at 6:30 p.m. as family and friends are encouraged to attend.
