Wayne Chicken Show Parade Form Released

WAYNE – The 2018 Wayne Chicken Show is under three months away and parade entry forms are now available.

This year’s theme “Welcome To Fabulous Wayne America” marks the 38th annual Wayne Chicken Show. Mark you calendar for Friday, July 13 – Sunday, July 15.

The Wayne Rotary Club will be organizing the parade on behalf of the Wayne Chicken Show Committee.

Cost is $5 for entries which are due by Monday, July 2. Late entries will be accepted, but won’t be announced, or judged and will start at the end of the line. Businesses, organizations, groups, reunions, families and individuals are welcome to participate. Numbers are assigned on first come, first serve.

Those who use the 2018 theme, or a chicken related theme will be eligible for judging. The parade will start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 and work its way north from 1st & Main to 10th Street before heading west and turning back south on Lincoln Street while ending at 7th Street.

Prizes will be awarded to the Best 2018 Theme Related float ($100), Best Overall Chicken Related float ($50) and Best Children’s Category ($25).

Return the above form and $5 registration fee by July 2 to the WAED office located at 108 W 3rd Street.

Parade numbers will be posted at www.chickenshow.com no sooner than Thursday, July 12, but will be available at the info booth on Henoween (Friday, July 13) or after 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 at the corner of 1st and Pearl Street.
