Wayne Area Ducks Unlimited Banquet Is Friday, Kids Can Attend For Free

WAYNE – Plan on joining the Wayne Area Chapter of Ducks Unlimited for its 17th annual Auction and Member Banquet Fundraiser for wetlands and waterfowl conservation this weekend.

According to a release from the Wayne Area Chapter of Ducks Unlimited, the banquet will be on Friday, November 5 from the Beaumont Event & Concert Hall located at 2611 North Highway 15 (just north of Wayne). Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to begin at 7 p.m. followed by a live auction.

Ducks unlimited is the world’s largest wetlands, waterfowl and wildlife conservation organization.

The Wayne Area Chapter of Ducks Unlimited is looking to the next generation of wildlife conservationists and hunters. Greenwings: (DU young members 15 years old and younger) can attend the 2021 banquet for free when accompanied by an adult DU member.

The Wayne Area Chapter has been given a sponsor gift from area committee members to support the Greenwings in the local area. The chapter will pay for the “Greenwing” youth membership in DU and a meal for the first 50 youth to register.

The new generation of hunters will be the leaders of conservation in the future as focusing on the Greenwings in the area is important to future programming and events. In addition to membership and a meal, all Greenwings will be entered into a drawing of youth items.

Kent Bearnes of Laurel is the Chairman of the organized Wayne Area Chapter of Ducks Unlimited committee. He said this event will give local residents an opportunity to get involved in a practical conservation program and have a good time as well.

The Wayne Area Chapter of Ducks Unlimited organization has conserved more than 13 million acres of wetlands and related waterfowl habitat since 1937, thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters and members from across the continent.

The public is invited to help celebrate 84 years of Ducks Unlimited by joining the group for dinner, exciting prizes and good times for you and your family while helping support wetlands conservation this Friday, November 5.
