WAYNE – For the third time in two years, a Junior Job Shadow Day is being organized by Wayne Community Schools.
According to a release from Wayne Area Economic Development, area businesses should have received a letter from WCS with a partnership invitation for the job shadow on Tuesday, November 5. The time slots will be 9 – 11 a.m. or 1 – 3 p.m.
Following a reVISION Process in 2017, Wayne Community Schools coordinated their first Junior Job Shadow Day in the spring of 2018 before hosting another last fall. Based on feedback it was determined the fall was a better time to host the event.
The day provides Wayne High juniors insight on their career choices while opening the opportunity for area business to highlight the countless careers that Wayne supports. All businesses are urged to sign up for the event and allow the students to get a behind the scenes look and visit with other employees about what they do and how they found their career path.
With more businesses in the Wayne area than there are juniors, not all businesses will be assigned a shadow student. But, signing up for the event will ensure that the school has all of the business/student match opportunities at their disposal.
If businesses are willing to host juniors this year, they’re asked to complete the below business sign-up sheet and either scan it into an email or send it back to the high school addressed to the high school counselor. Information is being requested by Friday, September 6.
