Water Main Placement With City, Plum Creek Wind, LLC County Roads Agreement To Be Discussed During Commissioners Meeting

WAYNE – Both the Wayne County Board of Equalization and Commissioners will be meeting this week.

From the Wayne County Courthouse courtroom, the board of equalization will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18.

A listing of real property that was omitted from or needed to be corrected on the March 19 assessment roll seeks approval. Also, the approval for motor vehicle application exemptions for the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department is needed.

Moving into the regularly scheduled board of commissioners meeting, city administrator Wes Blecke and a representative from JEO Consulting Group, Inc. will address the placement on a new city water main along 575th Ave.

Highway superintendent, Mark Casey will also go over road/bridge project updates along with taking action on a request from Herbst Construction, Inc. to push back the start date for the Temme bridge project. The requested date is August 12 without the charge of working days.

Other scheduled appointments will see Charlie Smith, with Plum Creek Wind, LLC attend at 9:30 a.m. to review and take action on county roads agreement as well as Jared Reimers, community liaison for Congressman Adrian Smith at 9:45 a.m. providing a legislative update.

A pair of fund transfer resolutions will look to be approved during the meeting.

A notice has also been posted that the county of Wayne will accept bids for a tract more particularly described as Tax Lot 14 (strip of land in between Runza and the Wayne Armory). Bids will be received by the Wayne County Sheriff at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the lobby of the courthouse. The real estate shall be sold to the highest bidder and the county reserves the right to reject all bids.

 

Official described property being sold: beginning at a point 60 feet North and 264.9 feet West of the Southeast Corner of the Southwest Quarter of Section 7, Township 26 North, Range 4 East of the 6th P.M., Wayne County, Nebraska; thence West a distance of 8.5 feet; thence North a distance of 418.9 feet; thence East a distance of 8.5 feet; thence South a distance of 418.9 feet to a point of beginning.
