WAKEFIELD – Let Wakefield Community School’s SkillsUSA chapter do the cooking Sunday morning. They will be holding a pancake feed to help send one of their own to nationals.
The SkillsUSA group is raising funds to send students to the national convention according to club advisor and Industrial Tech teacher Will Tietmeyer.
“We have our state contest in April every year and we have one of our students who won their state contest in Welding Sculpture and they have an opportunity to go to nationals which is in Atlanta this year,” Tietmeyer said.
The pancake feed will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Wakefield Community Schools cafeteria. It is a free-will donation meal. Teitmeyer said any help for his students is welcome.
“Any support would be greatly appreciated,” Teitmeyer said.
The national SkillsUSA conference will be held in Atlanta from Monday, June 20 through Friday, June 24.
