CRETE, NE — A video of a student at Crete High School repeatedly striking another student in the head is garnering attention on social media and raising questions about why it happened.
The incident took place on Monday at Crete High School and appears to have been filmed by another student. The video shows the attack going on for nearly 30 seconds before any of the students or staff nearby intervene.
10/11 Now says the families of both students say problems between the two girls have existed for weeks. They say the issues could have been addressed by the school.
Superintendent of Crete Public Schools Mike Waters told 10/11 NOW that school officials are investigating the incident. He says all info about the matter is confidential because it involves students.
Crete Police said they are aware of the situation and are “acting on it.”
