WAYNE – As the active positive COVID-19 numbers remained the same, another 12 individuals returned to the Wayne State College campus following another update regarding COVID-19.
According to a release from WSC, the active positives stayed at 12 with the number of those who returned to campus as of Monday, October 19 rose from 137 to 149. There were also another 12 positive cases now at 161 overall positive COVID-19 cases since August 14, 2020.
These numbers provide a snapshot of the total number of positive cases for employees and students, the number of people who have returned to campus and the number of active positive cases.
College officials are continuing to ask everyone to follow all guidelines and requirements regarding the four pillars of hygiene, masks, social distancing and self-screening.

Also, officials with the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department posted their weekend COVID-19 Dashboard. As of Tuesday, October 20, there were nine new cases were reported in health district bringing the overall total to 1,031.
Numbers also include new positives since last report/total positives/total number recovered for each county. Cedar (3/175/84); Dixon (1/167/106); Thurston (1/356/280) and Wayne (4/333/147). Of the 1,031 overall total positives, 617 have recovered. Deaths for Health District residents will be reported on a weekly graph as a thorough investigation is required before Public Health can confirm and report COVID-19 related deaths.
