WAYNE – A handful of communities in northeast Nebraska will be hosting blood drives including four the week of November 16.
According to a release from LifeServe Blood Center, community members are being asked to book an appointment to give blood at an upcoming area blood drive.
The communities of Hartington, Pender, Wakefield, Allen, Fordyce and Wayne will all be hosting a blood drive event this month. It’s important that eligible community members continue to give blood regularly to ensure the health of the community. There is no substitute for human blood.
To help ensure the safety of blood donors and team members during this COVID-19 pandemic, LifeServe is enforcing several precautionary measures. Appointments are required as donors who do not have an appointment will not be able to give blood, blood donors should pre-screen themselves for fever prior to appointments as only donors with temperatures under 99.5 will be allowed to donate and blood donors are required to wear a mask for the duration of their appointment as if donors do not have masks one will be provided.
Hartington Community Blood Drive: Monday, November 16 from 12:30 – 6 p.m. at the VFW (206 E Main Street)
Pender Community Blood Drive: Tuesday, November 17 from 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Pender Fire Hall (314 Maple Street)
Wakefield Community Blood Drive: Wednesday, November 18 from 2:15 – 6 p.m. at Christian Church of Wakefield (303 Johnson Street)
Allen Community Blood Drive: Thursday, November 19 from 3 – 6:30 p.m. at the Allen Fire Hall (2nd & Harrison)
Fordyce Community Blood Drive: Saturday, November 21 from 8:30 a.m. until noon at the Fordyce Fire Hall (209 W 2nd Street)
Wayne Community Blood Drive: Wednesday, November 25 from noon until 5:30 p.m. at the Wayne Fire Hall (510 Tomar Drive)
