CONCORD – With an early August free Family Field Day approaching, the Haskell Ag Lab will also be hosing a Forage Field Day next week.
According to a release from the Haskell Ag Lab Eastern Nebraska Research & Extension in Concord, make plans to pre-register for the event by Friday, July 29.
The Haskell Ag Lab is located at 57905 866th Road in Concord.
Cost to attend the Forage Field Day on Thursday, August 4 is $30 with CCA credits available.
The morning will open with a session on cover crops/alternative forages at 10 a.m. followed by nitrogen and forages at 11 a.m. After a noon lunch, afternoon sessions will include full season grazing at 1 p.m.; raising crops for grain vs. silage at 1:30 p.m.; break at 2:20 p.m.; a harvest management overview at 2:30 p.m.; speaker panel discussion at 3:40 p.m. before concluding the day with a survey at 4:15 p.m.
Also, an optional research farm tour will be offered at 4:30 p.m. next Thursday.
